Mayor Zohran Mamdani is moving to lower the speed limit around hundreds of schools in New York City as part of a major escalation of the Vision Zero initiative.
Most of the schools in Mamdani’s new initiative currently have speed limits of 20 mph, while the rest of New York City’s roughly 2,300 school locations have limits of 25.
