Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the Israel Defense Forces to strike Hamas in Gaza following an attack on IDF forces and lying about remains.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday ordered the Israeli military to carry out “immediate, powerful” strikes in Gaza after Israel accused Hamas of violating the US-brokered ceasefire deal and staging the discovery of a deceased hostage.

Associated Press reporters and witnesses heard tank fire and saw explosions in various parts of Gaza, including in Gaza City and Deir al-Balah. The order from Netanyahu came after an Israeli official said Hamas had fired on its forces in southern Gaza and after the Palestinian group handed over body parts on Monday that Israel said were the partial remains of a hostage recovered earlier in the war.

The Israeli PM made the announcement shortly after claiming Hamas opened fire at Israeli forces in southern Gaza
