The TOG assault tank filmed during trials in Lincoln, 1940. Many of the TOG's designers, chief among them Sir Albert Stern, had been involved in the design of First World War tanks (hence the name "The Old Gang", or TOG). The unique design reflects its creators' intentions to devise a tank that could navigate tricky terrain: wide anti-tank trenches, fortifications, shell craters and other obstacles.
