A heartwarming success story from the South Coast! 🐬 Last week, we spearheaded a complex and critical rescue operation to save a young bottlenose dolphin calf near Batemans Bay. The calf had been spotted in mid-June, severely entangled in braided fishing line, restricting its ability to swim. Miraculous Echidna Rehab and Release 🦔✨ In March this year, WIRES volunteers Kylie and Glen were called to rescue an echidna in Kurrajong, NSW. At first, things didn’t look good for the echidna. He had been hit by a car, his beak was damaged, and he was losing blood. He was quickly taken to Taronga Wildlife Hospital, where vets discovered additional injuries from an apparent dog attack.
